Back to the future: the revival of outdoor cinema

2020 has been a strange year all round, we can’t deny it. No-one could have predicted the extent of the pandemic or quite how many people would be impacted by it. However, we are all learning to adapt to social distancing rules as best we can whilst still maintaining some form of a ‘normal’ life.

Throughout the pandemic, we have seen technology step-in where personal interaction has not been possible. As the sun starts to shine a new, or should we say old, craze has started. Crowds are now flocking to outdoor cinemas for a night of entertainment with family and friends.

Outdoor cinemas were immensely popular years ago, but their popularity had dwindled in modern times. However, it now provides people with a way of having fun and enjoying themselves whilst ensuring they can keep a sufficient distance from others to prevent the spread of coronavirus. Friends and family can still join, they just must remain sat at least 2 metres away from you. When the sun is shining and the drinks are flowing, what a lovely way to spend a day outdoors and having fun.

If the pandemic continues into the winter, it will be interesting to see what the next big craze will be during the colder months…watch this space.
